Holy Crap! It's been like 4 months since I updated this thing and man have I done a lot in 4 months.
VegasMy two Roomies, my cousin and I went to Las Vegas, Nevada in mid February for a week and a bit. That was so much fun, you guys have no idea! There was so much to see and do, it was all very overwhelming. We visited almost every hotel on The Strip at least once. The "TI", "Excalibur", and "Caesars Palace" being three of our favs. The "Palace" had the Forum Shops, which is one giant mall of awesome hugeness. My cousin and one roomie went I think our third night there after having a few drinks and got lost in the forums for three hours. The finally made it out and went over to the TI (Treasure Island in case you were wondering) and bought a giant Pirate mug filled with an alcoholic slushy type beverage. I got one the next day, I named my mug Smee, and I will post a picture of him later. i still have to upload my pictures from the trip, there are a lot!
We went to two shows and the Grand Canyon while we were there. The shows were both at the Excalibur. The first was a Strip show called "The Thunder from Down Under" very good, and tasteful, though I wasn't happy about the audience participation part, at least they never picked me or my friends. It was a lot of fun, and while we could have gotten pictures with the guys after the show, we didn't want to spend $30.
The second show was a renaissance feast thing called the "Tournament of Kings". Also a very good show. It had jousting and sword fighting, and no utensils you had to eat with your hands. Great times, great times. The menu was a WHOLE Cornish game hen (so freaking delicious!), veggies, soup, and a little fritter dessert. We were divided up into sections and each section had there own knight/country to cheer for. We were in the France section, and ladies, France had one very good looking knight. Even evil had it's own cheering section. It was an awesome time.
The Grand Canyon was also a great trip to go on. It was a three hour drive there and 3 hours back. We left at 6 in the morning and got there by 9:30. On the drive out there we got passed a base were they filmed one of the scenes for the Transformers Movie. The scene was the first part of the movie were Blackout is destroying the base, and apparently they didn't tell the bus drivers what would be happening that day so the cops had the lines full of worried bus drivers calling in explosions, and machine gunfire, and all kinds of things all day.
Anyway, the Canyon was a beautiful and awe-inspiring site. If you ever get a chance to go I highly suggest you do so. I didnt get very many pictures of that particular trip because my camera decided to die that day. I did get a few photos though and will be posting those as well as my pictures of Smee the Pirate Mug.
JobWell after two months + of job hunting, I finally found a job. :eyeroll: Took for freaking ever. Anyway I am now a line cook/dishwasher at a local restaurant. I will not say where due to RL issues. I'm enjoying it well enough now, the first few weeks were a little hectic; the head cook had very high expectations and expected them to be met with little or no direction at all. I eventually got into the swing of things though, and am doing much better now. I am still looking for other employment, because I'm not sure how I will work this job into my school schedule come this fall.
General UpdateI have decided to go back to school in the fall now that I finally know what I want to do with my life. I am going to go for my Archaeology Major, with a Minor in Classics. I may or may not go for my PhD I'm just not sure yet.
For this degree though I need to pick a second language, but I have no real idea on which one I should choose. I have a choice between French, Greek, Arabic, Latin, Russian, German, Japanese, and Mandarin (I think that's an option, I'm not entirely sure). But I have no idea which one I should pick. Argh! *pulls hair* If anyone wants to share their opinion on the subject feel free, I could really use some outside input on this.
On a completely unrelated note, I'm almost done The Godling Chronicles! The chapter I was stuck on is finally working itself out, slowly but surely. After that ones done the rest should be a breeze because I know how I know how I want the rest of the story to pan out. It was just that one spot that was giving me trouble. So expect Chapter 12 to be up within the next week and a half.
And lastly I am moving out of the place I am currently residing and am moving into a new place at the end of the month, were the rent is cheaper and at a fixed rate. No more of this going up every six months crap we've been dealing with. I should be out of here by the third week of the month, which will leave the last week for us to clean the place from top to bottom.
Well I think that's about all I have to say. I need to go and get some sleep, got a ton of packing to do tomorrow, I'm moving my desk and shelves, and possibly my TV and TV stand as well.
Night all.
Sith.
